New Tokyo Sushi in Chetwynd

Surprisingly good sushi for a place so far from water. Mostly friendly staff.

I was pleasantly surprised. It was packed and a little slow hence the 4 star. The chef was very good about it. Gave us a few freebies because of the wait. It's small but good. Cost is typical of an average sushi restaurant. I'll be back.

This is my favourite spot for Sushi in NE BC. I am in Chetwynd often for work and I drove by many times without stopping here. I saw the parking lot often looked empty and didn’t think Chetwynd would have good sushi. I couldn’t have been more wrong. They are steady busy making take out orders and their sushi chef makes the best rolls I’ve had in years. I highly recommend Tokyo Sushi!

The sushi here is quite good. Fast and fresh. I order take-out on my way through town and by the time I come back across the road from getting gas its ready. Prices are fair and selection is large but not overwhelming.

Walk-in instead of calling for take out! Their phone etiquette is not very nice. Food is good though.

Nice location, the menu has tons of options for sushi rolls, nigri and a huge selection of dishes for non-sushi eaters as well. Prices are reasonable too. Staff are friendly and helpful - the service is FAST from order to table.

Used to LOVE it here, now they don't have great service, I got really sick off of the spider roll and the sushi was warm... Really miss the old chefs

Read the reviews and thought that teriyaki beef dish would be good. Came in and ordered from the young lady..... ok fine. The TV is on...... soccer is on and the cook is just watching. I am kinda thinking that there must be someone in the back going to make my order. I am sitting and waiting for a while and the cook finally goes and starts my order.... hey! Sorry for tearing you away from the tv. As for the beef teriyaki? Edo in Dawson Creek is better. You get more and it’s $6 cheaper.

In a place like chetwynd, who'd think you'd get raw fish? In any case... Not the worst sushi I've had. Nice staff.

The food is great. My favourites are Dinner Box B, Assorted Tempura, Baked Salmon Roll, and Gyoza. Skip the Japanese beer to keep your tab down to a reasonable level.

Surprisingly good sushi. Easily the best restaurant in town. The dinner box is a good deal, with a good mix of things. The California roll wasn't great but everything else was very nice.

Fantastic little sushi place with a massive menu, especially for being in northern BC. The menu ranges from donburi bowls to udon to sushi. If you are in the neighborhood and want sushi, I couldn't recommend this place more. The staff is friendly and the food preparation and quality is very high. The miso soup is great and is a nice little warm up in the colder weather.

Easily one of the top 3 best sushi places I have eaten at in North America. Their rolls are very fresh and the grilled scallop appetizer is one to get for sure. Could be my favorite japanese dish i have ever had. The neguri sushi also tasted very fresh and was excellent. For a very minimally prepared dish it could not have been better. Someone here really understands flavors and preparations.The waitresses were friendly and had great service. The head chef is also very professional and personable. I will be recommending this place to anyone that comes to chetwynd.

Food was fine but very dissatisfied with the service. Was snapped at by the server when trying navigate the menu. Looking back I should have left right there. I’ll never go back or recommend it.

This place is actually really great. The staff is awesome. Its not the best sushi I've had but its still pretty darn good none the less.

The staff at New Tokyo are very friendly and the food is pretty good. Prices are as-expected for a sushi place in Northern BC, though I find the portions to be more generous - my black dynamite roll was stuffed full of imitation crab and tempura prawn, with only slivers of vegetables, which is definitely my preference!
